Most Recently Wendy Hill-Tout of Voice Pictures co-produced Witches X, a feature film, (producer, co-writer and mentor director with daughter “Lowell” on the feature.)  The film was financed by Telefilm Canada and was about an LGBTQ+2 grunge band hunted by a religious cult. She also directed several feature documentaries including Insanity: The Mental Health Crisis, about the mental health crisis in Canada and a personal story of the director’s brother who developed schizophrenia and disappeared which premiered at CIFF, & Being Connor, a feature film about disabilities which is out to festivals.

She is in final stage development for an Irish Canadian feature film which she will direct, The Water Remembers, with development financing from Telefilm Canada, CMF and AMF, slated for fall/winter 2025/26.  

In 2020, Ms. Hill-Tout co-wrote and produced the feature film Bloodthirsty about a vegan singer songwriter who becomes a werewolf. The feature was nominated for 2 CSA’s and premiered at Fantastic Fest as the closing night gala & received Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. It also played at Sitges, Bucheon, Fright Fest and other leading horror festivals and was on 12 top horror lists worldwide for the year.  

Also, in 2019/20 Ms. Hill-Tout produced, cowrote and directed the feature film Marlene based on the true story of Marlene Truscott, who fought to have her husband exonerated from a crime he didn’t commit. The feature drama premiered at the Whistler Film Festival (Runner Up Audience Award) and won and was nominated for many awards across the country including a nomination for a CSA, nominated, for 9 AMPIA awards including Best Feature and Director, nominated for a number of Hamilton Film Festival awards and won for Best Cinematographer and nominated and won Best Feature at the Forest Film Festival. 

In 2017, she co-produced Parallel Minds, a feature film, directed by Indigenous filmmaker Benjamin Ross Hayden. The feature was in multiple festivals worldwide (Fantasposa International Film Festival, LUSCA Fantastic Film Festival of Puerto Rico, San Pedro International Film Festival, Red Nation Indigenous Film Festival, Native Spirit Film Festival, American Indian Film Festival, Santa Fe Film Festival, Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Osaka International Film Festival). She also executive produced on his first feature The Northlander, which premiered at Cannes Canadian Perspectives.

At the Banff Media Festival, we met with Netflix and took a ride up Sulphur Mountain on the gondola. That’s where we made the pitch.
