Speaker Shelby Mitchell-Adams
Shelby Mitchell-Adams is a director, writer, producer and actor. She is a member of the Akwesasne Mohawk Indian Reservation and owner of Dreamcatcher Studio on reserve. She graduated from Toronto Film School and was Valedictorian of her program. She is a NY Emmy award winner for the documentary, The Roots of Lacrosse.
Her short film, Radio Bingo had its World Premiere at the Atlanta Film Festival in 2023, and has played at DOC NYC and other major festivals in North America. Along with Radio Bingo, her horror short film, Water Moccasin, had its Canadian premier at the Blood in the Snow Film Festival, while her feature documentary, Rules of Lacrosse, screened at the Hamilton Film Festival, and the Buffalo International Film Festival.
She has directed and produced plays that have raised awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, and trafficking.
