Speaker Adam Garnet Jones
For 14 years, Adam Garnet Jones (Cree-Métis from Edmonton, AB) worked as a writer, director, and producer of feature films and TV. In 2018, he shifted toward content development and advocacy for Indigenous creators, founding the role of Indigenous Initiatives Lead at Telefilm Canada and the CMF. In that role, Adam helped Telefilm and the CMF implement Indigenous Pathways and Protocols into their funding frameworks, guiding the creation and implementation of a historic new fund for Indigenous filmmakers.
Now, Adam is proud to lead his team as Director of TV Content and Special Events at APTN. In his role, Adam is responsible for setting the direction of the network’s programming, and helping to maximize the potential of the country’s most compelling stories. Since Adam took leadership of the TV Content team, APTN has proudly supported hits with broad appeal like Little Bird, Acting Good, North of North, and Ghost Hunters of the Grand River. At the same time, Adam has maintained APTN as the home of projects of National importance, like the launch of APTN’s full-time Indigenous language channel (APTN Languages) and the live National broadcast commemorating the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
