Speaker Marcia Douglas
Marcia has more than 25 years of experience in the development and production of Canadian screen-based content for traditional and digital platforms and audiences. Prior to her appointment as Executive Director of the Bell Fund, she held roles at the Canada Media Fund, the Canadian Media Producers Association, the Bell Fund, the Cogeco Fund, and the
Independent Production Fund, where she worked to establish policies and opportunities to foster and promote the Canadian media production sector and led files related to business and industry affairs with a particular focus on advancing opportunities for producers, sustainability, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
Marcia has also served on various Boards and Advisory committees including the Minister of Heritage’s Green Shift Committee, the Toronto Film Board, the Ontario Green Screen Initiative, the Screen Industries Research and Training Centre, and Programming Advisory Committees at several schools and was a producer, production manager, and assistant director.
Marcia has more than 25 years of experience in the Canadian audiovisual sector. Prior to her appointment as Executive Director of Bell Fund, she held roles at CMF, CMPA, Bell Fund, Cogeco Fund and IPF, where she led files and initiatives related to production financing, business and industry affairs with a particular focus on advancing opportunities for equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and sustainability. Marcia was also a producer, production manager, and assistant director.
