Speaker Doug Smith
Doug Allan Smith, MBA, CPA, CMA, is SVP Streaming and Content Licensing at Paramount Global, Canada.
Based in Toronto, he leads a team across product lines including Paramount + (Canada’s fastest growing premium SVOD service), PLUTO (Canada’s leading FAST platform) and linear content including MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
Smith also leads the division's sales activities across all Canadian media platforms for hit network series ranging from hit CBS franchises like Star Trek, Survivor, NCIS and FBI to blockbuster theatrical franchises including Mission Impossible, Top Gun and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Since 2014, Smith has been President and Chair of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) which funds promising cancer treatments through advanced medical collaborations.
Smith has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a multiple scholarship recipient in Television Broadcasting at Fanshawe College. He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration at Queen’s University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
