Hannah Pillemer

Executive Vice President, Head of Scripted

FOX Entertainment

Hannah Pillemer was named Executive Vice President and Head of Scripted for FOX Entertainment Studios in March 2024. In this position, she leads all development, creative and production for the division’s full portfolio of scripted content across platforms ranging from the in-house FOX Television Network to third-party buyers worldwide.

As a global content creator and production partner, Pillemer is responsible for FOX Entertainment Studios’ growing roster of collaborators and co-productions, including Disney/Hulu, Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony Pictures Television, Prime Video, Netflix, Apple+, Hallmark, TelevisaUnivision, Roku, UK’s Channel 4, France’s TF1, German’s ProSieben, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Bell Media, Australia’s Foxtel and FOX-owned streamer Tubi.

Pillemer also oversees FOX Entertainment Studios’ new production label, Tideline, which was unveiled in January 2024 at the Sundance Film Festival, where the first film produced under the new banner, Ponyboi, premiered. Tideline’s focus is on telling relevant, impactful stories from differentiated voices and perspectives globally, as reflected in its latest projects, including Slanted, a satirical drama, which had its worldwide premiere and won the grand jury prize in the narrative competition section of the 2025 SXSW Film and TV festival, as well as the psychological drama Beacon, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and event anthology series One Day in October, based on the harrowing October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Prior to her current role, she served as Executive Vice President, Creative for FOX-owned MarVista Entertainment and Executive Vice President for the Canadian studio Neshama Entertainment, both of which continue to fall under her purview. In this capacity, Pillemer was responsible for worldwide development and physical production for MarVista’s entire content pipeline, recently shepherding Hallmark’s first drama series, the successful audience favorite The Way Home with Andie MacDowell, now in its third season; as well as Hallmark’s recently renewed drama series, The Chicken Sisters, starring Lea Thompson and Wendie Malick.

Pillemer joined MarVista in 2013, and under her leadership, the studio has significantly increased its content development and production output, with a current annual slate of nearly 100 films and television series across a broad range of budgets and every genre from thrillers, romcoms and young adult to kids, family and holiday. In fact, MarVista’s holiday movie business has grown exponentially over the years, making the studio a prolific global leader in Christmas-themed content.

During her tenure, the prolific studio significantly expanded its roster of third-party partners and buyers to include nearly every leading studio and streamer worldwide, ranging from Disney and Netflix to Hallmark, Lionsgate and Lifetime, in addition to serving as a leading supplier of original scripted content for FOX’s ad-supported streaming service, Tubi.

Among recent film projects Pillemer has overseen is the comedy First Time Female Director, starring, written, directed and produced by Chelsea Peretti, and co-produced by Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions. The movie premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, where it was quickly acquired by Roku. Pillemer also managed production on MarVista’s romcom Daughter of the Bride, starring Marcia Gay Harden, Halston Sage, Andrew Richardson and Aidan Quinn; Amazon Prime Video’s Christmas is Canceled, starring Hayley Orrantia, Dermot Mulroney and Janel Parrish; and the indie feature, Stay Awake starring Chrissy Metz, which made an award-winning debut at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival. She is also responsible for the hit Hallmark original holiday film Rescuing Christmas, produced by and starring Rachael Lee Cook.

Prior to joining MarVista, Pillemer worked in production on multiple high-profile projects at HBO Films, including the Steven Soderbergh-helmed Behind the Candelabra, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.
