Speaker John Elmes
John Elmes manages the news team and is International Editor of UK TV trade publication Broadcast. He has been a journalist for 15 years and has worked in the TV trade press for the past eight. John is a regular moderator at UK and international TV markets and events, having chaired keynote and panel discussions for MIPCOM, MIPTV, the Broadcast Summit, Series Mania, the Banff World Media Festival, the Royal Television Society, Dublin International Film Festival, Business France and the Asia TV Forum. He was a juror for the 2024 and 2025 Rockie Awards International Program Competition (The Rockies). Before Broadcast, he was a senior reporter at fellow trade publication C21Media. Prior to this, John spent six years at leading global higher education magazine Times Higher Education in a variety of roles, latterly as a research reporter. He has previously worked at football publication Goal as a features and news writer, and freelanced for The Independent and The Independent on Sunday.
