Speaker Jenn Kuzmyk
As Executive Director of the Banff World Media Festival and Publisher of Playback, Jenn oversees all aspects of the renowned international event as well as Canada’s leading film and TV industry business publication. Together with an amazing team, Jenn originated and leads the world’s largest inclusion and diversity programs serving the media sector: The Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices Initiative , the BANFF Spark Accelerator for Women in the Business of Media and the Indigenous Screen Summit. To date, these programs have provided professional development, industry access, and mentorship for over 1000 professionals, focusing on under-represented groups including Black and Indigenous individuals, people of colour, women, LGBTQ2S++ communities and those with accessibility challenges.
Jenn served as Chair the Women in Film and Television Toronto Foundation (WIFT+) Board of Directors from 2020-2024 and is a founding member of the Future of Film Showcase Advisory Board, a festival that champions emerging film talent. She taught
for 5 years as an adjunct professor within the Film Studies department at Toronto’s York University.
Earlier in her career, Jenn was Director of International Distribution at Proper Television, leading program sales in Canada, Scandinavia, Germany and MENA territories. She also acquired content for distribution and worked with independent producers, getting their projects to greenlight by consulting on presales, coproductions, financing and creative development. As VP, Development at Cream Productions, Jenn co-created and co executive produced television series for top channels worldwide, including Emmy nominated series Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan, and hit international TV format Know-It-All, among many other titles. Prior to joining Cream, Jenn spent a decade as Canadian Bureau Chief and an Editor at C21Media, a leading UK-based trade publisher focused on the global business of television and digital media content.
