Speaker Sierra Cowan
Sierra Cowan is an Executive Producer at BYUtv, where she oversees the development and production of original series across both unscripted and scripted. With 15 years of experience, she has built a career creating premium, Emmy-nominated, and James Beard-winning content from concept to launch. She brings extensive experience launching content platforms, with a focus on brand development, premium content creation, marketability, and growth strategies to build viewership.
Before joining BYUtv, Sierra served as Director of Content for Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network at Warner Bros. Discovery, where she played a key role in shaping the brand’s creative direction and executive produced a slate of flagship series including The Lost Kitchen, Big Sky Kitchen with Eduardo Garcia (Daytime Emmy-nominated, James Beard Award winner), and Growing Floret (Daytime Emmy-nominated).
She previously served as Senior Manager for CNN and HLN Original Series, expanding their programming lineup with such series as The Redemption Project with Van Jones, Jerusalem: City of Faith and Fury, and Tricky Dick, while also helping to shape HLN’s true crime strategy. She began her career at Discovery Communications, where she was part of the team that launched Destination America.
