Dinae Robinson is an Ojibway writer, director, showrunner, and producer born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and a registered member of Swan Lake First Nation. Currently, Dinae is working as co-showrunner, writer, director, and executive producer on Taken's upcoming fifth season, a documentary series that focuses on solving the mysteries behind Canada’s epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous people. In 2022, Dinae was co-showrunner, writer, and director for Snapchat’s first Canadian Original series Reclaim(ed), which received a Banff Rockie Award nomination. Also in 2022, Dinae directed, co-wrote, and executive produced the feature documentary True Story, which premiered on the History channel for Canada’s national day for Truth and Reconciliation and also received a Banff Rockie Award nomination. True Story Part Two was immediately commissioned and premiered in 2023. Dinae was also co-showrunner and a writer, director, and executive producer for all three seasons of APTN's 7TH GEN, the life-affirming series that shares stories of incredible young Indigenous leaders across the country, which aired its third season in 2024. Dinae was recently selected for the 2024-2025 Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television's Executive Residency Program and was selected as one of Playback’s 10 to Watch of 2024.
