Speaker Eric Phillips
Eric Phillips is Vice President of Drama Development at Sony Pictures Television where he currently oversees numerous overall deals including Matthew B. Roberts (Outlander, Outlander: Blood of my Blood); Counterbalance’s Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Cobra Kai); and John Eisendrath (Alert, Blacklist). In addition, Phillips is currently developing the series adaptation of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for Prime Video with Jason Ning and Ronald D. Moore set to Executive Produce; as well as Ghostman with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II set to star and produce with Mateen's production company House Eleven10 Productions.
Before joining Sony, Phillips supported established and emerging creatives to develop and sell their projects. In April 2018, Phillips joined forces with iconic visual artist Hebru Brantley to launch Angry Hero -- an IP-centric production company built around Brantley's flagship character, Flyboy. At Angry Hero, Phillips set up a slate of features at Netflix, Amazon MGM,
Warner Bros. Animation, Lionsgate, and a TV pilot at Starz with Sony TV, leading to a first-look deal with Chernin Entertainment. Phillips produced Erax, a short film for Netflix as part of their Emerging Filmmaker Initiative, and Wondery's viral true crime podcast Over My Dead Body: Fox Lake. In publishing, Phillips has set up projects in comics and children's picture books to create underlying IP for adaptation.
Phillips resides in Los Angeles with his wife, two kids, and dog.
